Lender List Information

Illinois Institute of Technology's Downtown Campus (IIT-DTC) Office of Financial Aid is committed to providing the best and most unbiased information to our students.  For the 2009-2010 academic year IIT-DTC Office of Financial Aid invited 7  lenders to respond to a request for information (RFI) about their federal loan products.  The RFI was due back to the office by May 1, 2009 and resulted in a total of 6 lenders who responded to the RFI. IIT-DTC used criteria that results in lower overall costs to the student as well exceptional customer service and efficient loan processing. All the criteria points were weighted according to a blending of the priorities. Categories related to cost were ranked the highest by all groups.

Criteria used for rating loan products:

• Low or no fees
• Interest rate reductions options
• "Second Look Policy" for Federal Graduate Plus Loan approval decisions
• Selling of loans policy
• Commitment to guarantee terms & benefits
• Borrower approval and processing options
• Electronic disbursement of funds to school
• Flexibility of processing systems
• Value added products available to students
