CHECKLIST

All application documents are available on the Downtown Campus Financial Aid website at http://www.kentlaw.edu/depts/finaid/DLforms.html. The FAFSA can be completed online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

FAFSA or Renewal FAFSA (also available on line at www.fafsa.ed.gov)

Entrance Counseling Form (for first-time borrowers at Downtown Campus)

Online Master Promissory Note for the Federal Stafford or Federal Graduate Plus Loan (for first-time federal loan borrowers at Downtown Campus)

Alternative loan Promissory Note on-line(if student elects to apply for an alternative loan)

All additional requested documents, i.e., Verification Worksheet, Federal income tax return, proof odf citizenship, etc. (if selected for verification by the Department of Education).

Helpful Hints

Apply early --- funds are limited. Submit all documentation on or before the deadline. Whenever possible, apply online.

  • Open and read your mail. Respond to all inquiries and requests for additional information as quickly as possible. Applications are not considered complete until all of the requested documentation has been received.
  • Use the appropriate forms.
  • Read and follow all instructions carefully.
  • Print your name and ID number on all documents submitted.
  • Sign and date all applications.
  • Keep a copy of everything submitted.
  • Reapply for financial aid every academic year.
  • Review your credit report.
