E-mail Financial Aid
 Renewal FAFSA Deadline
FEBRUARY 1, 1999

For priority processing of your financial aid for 1999-2000, it is suggested that you complete your Renewal FAFSA by February 1, 1999.  The Renewal FAFSA can be completed by paper or online.  The U.S. Department of Education (DOE)  has mailed all Renewal FAFSAs to those students who applied for federal aid for 1998-1999.  If you did not receive a Renewal FAFSA in the mail by January 15th, you can complete a FAFSA, also, by paper or online.  Paper FAFSAs are available in the Office of Financial Aid and the web address to apply either application online is

Please note that if you are completing the Renewal FAFSA online, you must have an Electronic Access Code number (EAC).  This number is issued by the U.S. Department of Education and is similar to a personal identification number.  It is provided as a security measure of updating your personal and confidential information on the Internet.  You can call the U.S. Department of Education at (800) 4 FEDAID to request your EAC.

Alternatively, you can complete your FAFSA with FAFSA Express, a specially designed software from the U.S. Department of Education.  For your convenience, the FAFSA Express software has been installed on a computer in the Registrar's Office.  Also, you can download the software from the Department's web site at

If you have any questions, feel free to contact our office.

1999-2000 Financial Aid Packages
In addition to completing the Renewal FAFSA or FAFSA for financial aid next academic year, students must pick up the FINACIAL AID GUIDE AND APPLICATION materials.  Review your package of information carefully--deadline dates, a flow chart, express loan forms and more are included.  We have made some changes to the financial aid process for 1999-2000 and less paperwork will be required of students.  Packages are available for pick up during regular business hours.  For priority processing, the student financial aid file should be completed by JUNE 1, 1999 (MARCH 1st to enroll in the Summer 1999 term).

 Spring 1999 Loan Checks

Spring 1999 loan proceeds were available starting January 11, 1999.  Most of the Spring disbursements (99%), paper and electronic, have been received, processed and forwarded to the Bursar's Office.  The Bursar's Office has notified students through e-mail that disbursements have been received and endorsement of paper checks may be required.  Please refer to your student email account for verification that your loan disbursements have arrived.  If you have any questions about your student loan(s) or have not received a disbursement e-mail message, contact our office to investigate your loan status.

Bar Loans

There are special loans available to students for the Bar Examination.  The loan is used for the costs associated with fees for the bar review course and living expenses.  To be eligible for a bar loan, students must be credit worthy and can apply as early as six months before graduation.  Below is a chart of general details on the bar loans offered by some lenders.  For more information, contact the lender at the telephone number provided and applications are available in our office.
