A FINANCIAL AID STUDENT SURVEY. . . BE ON THE LOOK OUT ! ! !

Exit Interviews
If during your course of enrollment at Chicago-Kent you borrowed a federal Stafford, Perkins and/or private loan, you are required to attend an Exit Interview session prior to graduation.  The exit interview process is mandated by the U.S. Department of Education; it is intended to inform you of your Rights and Responsibilities as a student loan borrower.  Failure to complete an Exit Interview can result in your diploma and transcript being held by the Registrar's Office.

The session will include information on repayment options, deferments, consolidation as well as other information.  Also, each student will be given an estimated profile of their personal  loan history at Chicago-Kent.  A financial aid administrator and lender representative will be available at each session for Q & A on your student loans.  Refreshments will be served.

Choose a session from the schedule below to attend that is convenient for you.  No appointment is necessary You will need to bring with you information on two personal references, your personal banking information and driver's license number.

1998-99 Financial Aid Deadline
The deadline to submit a federal Stafford or alternative loan application for processing and disbursement is May 1, 1999.  Please keep this date in mind if you have an unpaid balance on your student account with the Bursar's Office and want to apply for a student loan to cover that balance.  Student accounts must be paid in full in order to register for the Summer 1999 or Fall 1999 terms.

 Summer 1999 Financial Aid Application
The Summer Financial Aid Application to request and receive financial aid for the Summer 1999 term is available in the Office of Financial Aid.  In order to have financial aid processed, you must have a complete 1999-2000 file with the Office of Financial Aid that includes, but not limited to, a Student Aid Report and Stafford or alternative loan application*.  You must register for at least three credit hours to get financial aid (six credit hours for the Stafford loan).

*The Stafford and alternative loan applications for Summer 1999 will be available in our office in the coming weeks.  Please look for notices of Summer loan applications in future Record updates.

If you intend to study abroad for the Summer 1999 term, you will have to complete an additional form.  In studying abroad, you may also want to consider having a power of attorney to act on your behalf with our office in your absence.  Both the Study Abroad Financial Aid Request forms and Power of Attorney forms are available in our office.

If you are registering for summer courses and would like financial assistance, but have not submitted the required documents referenced above, please do so as soon as possible.
