The 2000-2001 financial aid packets for continuing students are available in our office. New students financial aid packets will be provided through the Admissions office. If you have any questions please feel free to contact our office. For continuing students, if you have not receive the pin number or the renewal application from the Federal Processor, please stop by the financial aid office to pick up a paper FAFSA. If you are completing the FAFSA on-line, please print-out the signature page, sign it and mail it to the Federal Processor. If they do not receive your signature page, they will not process your FAFSA completely. If you are applying for Federal Stafford and/or private loan(s) for the Summer 2000 semester, please complete the 2000-2001 FAFSA in addition to completing an institutional summer application. Please note: you must be registered for the minimum of 6 credit hours to receive Federal Stafford loan and 3 credit hours to receive private loans for the summer term. If you have not completed a Master
Promissory Note for the Federal Stafford loans or a promissory note for
an Alternative loan, once the loan is electronically processed by our office
the lender will mail a pre-printed promissory note. Once received,
please complete and return it to the lender.
If you choose a different lender from previous
year, the lender may require to complete a new Master Promissory Note for
the Federal Stafford Loan.

The Fall 2000 and Spring 2001 Stafford and Alternative loan disbursements should arrive the week before each semester begins. Once students' loan disbursements are received, the financial aid file is reviewed for completeness and accuracy. The disbursement is processed, forwarded to the Bursar's Office and the student receives notification via e-mail. This process takes approximately 3-5 business days. Once your loan disbursement has been credited
to your account, either by EFT or paper endorsement, a Refund Check will
be issued if a credit balance remains on your account. Refund Checks
are issued by the Bursar's Office typically 3-5 business days of the credit
balance date. If you have any questions about your Refund Check,
please consult with the Bursar's Office.
2000-2001 Financial Aid Processing The Office of Financial Aid will begin processing Stafford and alternative loans for the 2000-2001 academic year the week of June 19th. However, students are still submitting loan requests on a daily basis. These "last minute" loans are being processed as quickly as possible. Students can expect to receive pre-printed applications/promissory notes from their respective lenders 7-10 business days from the date the loan is certified by Financial Aid. The promissory notes should be read over carefully and then completed with references, signature and date. For disbursement, mail the promissory note to the indicated address. Please remember that federal Stafford and alternative loans cannot be disbursed unless the promissory note is received by the lender. In processing student loans, files will be carefully reviewed. If documents are missing, if there are any discrepancies in information, or if any matters are unclear about your borrowing plans a counselor from our office will contact students by either email, telephone or mail. We will make every effort to be proactive and efficient to ensure your student loans are disbursed in a timely manner for the fall semester. Recall that the priority deadline for 2000-2001
financial aid processing was June 1, 2000. Files will be processed
in the order received and completed. If the FAFSA
has not been submitted and/or the FINANCIAL AID GUIDE AND APPLICATION materials
have not been picked up from the Office of Financial Aid, please do so
immediately.
If you have questions about the status of your financial aid file, feel
free to contact our office for assistance.
