LIR 4th Annual Conference on Immigration 

On Friday, October 10, 1998,  the Library of International Relations will hold its Fourth Annual Conference, "International Refugee Law and U.S. Asylum Policy."  this intensive one-day conference will bring together an impressive array of the top names in refugee and asylum law to explore current issues from international, theoretical, and national perspectives.  Luncheon keynote speaker will be David Martin, former general counsel, Immigration and Naturalization Service and a leading scholar in this area. 

Chicago-Kent students are invited to attend the conference at no charge; if you wish to join speakers and attendees for lunch and a cocktail reception, the cost will be $40.  Students interested in registering for the Conference should stop by room 871 for registration information. 

Research Guide to Impeachment Proceedings  
The Reference staff has prepared a research guide to impeachment of the President.  If you would like to know more about how the impeachment process works, the research guide is available on the Information Center home page.  The guide includes the relevant Constitutional provision and a list of books and articles available in the Information Center. 

How to Contact the Multimedia Services Department 
The Multimedia Services Department provides audio-visual equipment and operation to all departments of the Downtown Campus.  LCD projectors, overhead projectors, and video and audio taping are samples of the equipment and services provided by the Department.  To efficiently and effectively handle your audio-visual needs it is very helpful if you give 24 hours notice to schedule and accommodate your audiovisual request. To make a request, send an e-mail (MEDIASVC@KENTLAW.EDU) or call  ext. 6-5699. 

Reference Staff Offers Tutorials on ProQuest 
This week, the Reference Staff is offering tutorials on using ProQuest to research business and company information.   ProQuest indexes over 1000 management, marketing and business journals.  Abstracts are provided for all articles, and many are available in full text.  If you would like a brief demonstration on how to search ProQuest,  then come to this week's tutorial on ProQuest.   

The schedule for this week's tutorials  will be posted on the 9th floor Information Center Bulletin board.  Please meet near the Reference Desk at the scheduled times.  If you have any suggestions regarding future topics or times offered, please email Lenore Glanz  (email: LGLANZ).
