The Kent Syncopators
Seventy-five years ago, a group of Chicago-Kent
law students formed the "Kent Syncopators", a jazz ensemble which was a
popular addition to law school functions and dances. Their ragtime
tunes were thought to be far more interesting and lively than the characters
in certain cases in Long's Domestic Relations text. If you would like to
know more about law school activities in 1923, look for volumes of the
Chicago-Kent "Transcript" in the Information Center at KF 292 .C43 A8.
