New Library System Update
The implementation of our new online system, scheduled to be completed by Fall 1999,  is progressing.  We have extracted the first set of records to be loaded into the new system, and it is currently being analyzed by the new company. The second, and final, data extract will occur at the end of May.  At that time, you may notice some change in what information is available on the old ClarK system.  Please be patient if everything isn't "business as usual" during our time of transition. We will keep you informed as implementation progresses.

Final Exam Period Reminders

  • Now that exam time is approaching, please be considerate of fellow students who need a quiet place to study.  If you are unable to study due to loud talking, please inform the Reference Librarian on duty.
  • Study rooms are available for interactive group study for 2 hours per person starting May 5.  You can reserve study rooms at the Service Desk with a current student ID.
  • Be aware that computer labs may be unavailable at times, due to final exams being held in them.
  • Please remember to take breaks from your library studying to nourish yourself, since food and drinks are not allowed in the Information Center.
  • Students are reminded not to leave valuables unattended in the Information Center.  Personal belongings such as wallets, purses, laptops and briefcases should be carried with you when you leave your study area.
  • Now that the end of the school year is almost here, avoid overdue fines by bringing back any library materials you may have checked out during the semester.
Summer Lexis and Westlaw Passwords
Remember that your Lexis and Westlaw passwords will expire when the semester is over, but  you can extend them for summer school or other approved purposes.  Forms to extend Westlaw passwords will be available at the Reference Desk, and you can also sign up for summer passwords online at www.westlaw.com and www.lexis.com.

New Copy Card System
On Monday, May 24, the Information Center will implement a new copy card system. The new system will use the same debit format as our current system.  You won't be able to use current copy cards with the new system, so we recommend that you not add large amount of money to them.  However, you will be able to exchange your old cards for full value after the new system has been implemented.  There will be no cash refunds for old cards; only exchanges.

eLOISe Tutorial
The tutorial for this week is on how to use eLOISe.  eLOISe, which contains the virtual collection of the Information Center, is accessible from most of the computers in the building.  It's databases contain scanned images of various materials, including  treaties, U.S. Reports and copies of old exams.  The schedule is posted in the entry way of the library. There is no need to sign up to attend; just come to the Reference Desk at the scheduled time.  If you have any questions or suggestions regarding tutorials please email Liz Robb (EROBB).
