Keep Your Lexis and Westlaw Passwords Active this Summer
These are the summer password policies for Lexis and Westlaw.

Lexis: Any student enrolled in a summer class, on law review or moot court, or acting as a research assistant for a faculty member is eligible to register for summer access.  Other students have summer access to career materials only.  Graduating students are not eligible for summer access.

Eligible students can register for summer access at lexis.com/lawschool.  Lexis recommends that graduating students who want to do some online research go to lexisone.com, the free internet research site.

Westlaw: Students graduating this year are allowed to register for two hours of free Westlaw access at register.westgroup.com/beforethebar.  This is the program entitled "Before the Bar".  Note that students MUST register for this access prior to graduation; otherwise the student will receive job-search access only.

Students who are returning to Chicago-Kent next Fall have unlimited access this summer to all databases they may normally access during the school year.  These students do not need to register for this access because it is provided automatically.

Students are reminded that Westlaw law school passwords may not be used for research for law firms, government agencies, internship, externship, public interest,
pro-bono or other purposes unrelated to law school coursework.

Library Food and Drink Policy
1) Drinks are permitted, except in the computer labs,  if they are in reusable hard plastic or metal containers with permanent lids that do not have to be removed to drink, or if they are in bottles with securable caps.  Not allowed are: cans, styrofoam or paper cups, or any container without a permanent lid or securable cap.

2) Food is not permitted in the library.

3) No food or drinks of any kind are allowed in the computer labs.

Please Guard Your Valuables
Personal belongings, such as laptops, wallets, purses, briefcases, cell phones and Palmtops should be carried with you any time you leave your study area.

Consideration for Others in Library
Please try to maintain a quiet atmosphere in the Library for the benefit of all those who are studying around you.  If you have a cell phone call, or need to talk in a group, please move to a place where you will not be disturbing others, such as a study room, stairway, or the hallway outside the library.  If you are unable to study or concentrate because of loud talking in the Library, please ask the Reference Librarian at the Service Desk for assistance.
