Illinois Legislative History Tutorial
In this week’s Library tutorial, we will show you how to find legislative histories for Illinois statutes.  You can find the tutorial schedule posted in the entry way of the Library.  There is no need to sign up to attend; just come to the Reference Desk at the scheduled time.  If you have any questions or suggestions regarding tutorials, please e-mail Joe Mitzenmacher (JMITZENM).

Resource of the Week
U.S. Business Advisor.  The U.S. Business Advisor provides access to federal government information, services, and transactions.  It includes sections on related laws and regulations.

Consideration for Others in the Library
Please try to maintain a quiet atmosphere in the Library for the benefit of all those who are studying around you.  If you need to work in a group, study rooms are available.  You may use any unreserved study room, or make a reservation at the Service Desk.

Library Cell  Phone Policy
Before entering the Library, cell phones must be turned off.  In addition, you must leave the Library before using your cell phone. We have been inundated with complaints about the disturbances caused by cell phone usage in the Library, which has forced us to adopt this policy.

For those of you with an emergency situation who must be reachable by cell phone, you can leave your phone on ONLY if it gets your attention by some method other than ringing. If you have one that vibrates quietly or uses a blinking light, you can leave it on while you are in the Library. This exception does not change the requirement that you leave the Library to use your phone.

Library Food and Drink Policy
1) Drinks are permitted, except in the computer labs,  if they are in a reusable hard plastic or metal container with a permanent lid that does not have to be removed to drink.  Water is allowed in a standard water bottle with a securable cap.

Not allowed are: cans, styrofoam or paper cups, or soft drinks in bottles.

2) Food is not permitted in the Library.

3) No food or drinks of any kind are allowed in the computer labs.

Free mugs that comply with this policy are available at the Service Desk.  They are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and one mug is available per person.  The mugs have been donated by Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis, so there are two different styles.

Please Guard Your Valuables
Personal belongings, such as laptops, wallets, purses, briefcases, cell phones and Palmtops should be carried with you any time you leave your study area.
