Labor Cartoons on the 7th Floor
The Downtown Campus Library recently received a donation
of framed cartoons on labor subjects. These labor cartoons
are part of a 2002 donation to the law school by John Sheridan,
an admirer of Chicago-Kentís Institute for Law & the
Mr. Sheridanís Chicago firm, John Sheridan Associates,
was founded in 1959 to advise employers dealing with unionization
efforts. The collection is located on the seventh floor
of the Library between the two computer labs. Stop by and
take a look today!
Remote Access for Online Databases
The Downtown Campus Library now offers students and faculty
access to many of its subscription databases from off-campus
using a program called EZProxy. EZProxy is simple to use.
You will not need to download any programs or do anything
special to your browser.
On the pages that describe our electronic resources (such
databases accessible through EZProxy are designated with
an asterisk (*). To use a database, click on the link for
the database you want to search. If you are using a computer
connected directly to the campus network, the database will
come up automatically. If you are off-campus (for example,
if you are using AOL to access the Internet), you will be
asked for a login name and password. Put in the same name
and password you use for your school e-mail. Note that once
you are logged in to one database, you may use other databases
without logging in again that session. Also, unless you
have your own password already (e.g. Lexis, Westlaw, Loislaw),
you will not be able to use password-protected databases.
You will be able to use all non-restricted databases.
More information is available at
If you have any questions about or problems with EZProxy,

Interlibrary Loan Policy
Interlibrary Loan is available to
all Downtown Campus students. This service can be
used to borrow a book that is not owned by the Downtown
Campus Libraries or a copy of an article not available in
the library. Once you are certain the library does
not own an item and that it cannot be obtained through one
of the online databases maintained by the library, send
an E-mail to email@example.com
to request a loan of the book. The library's directory
of online resources, including the catalog, is at infoctr.edu.
Please note that ILL requests commonly require one to two weeks to fill.
Consideration for Others in the Library
Please try to maintain a quiet atmosphere in the Library for the benefit
of all those who are studying around you. If you need to work in
a group, study rooms are available. You may use any unreserved study
room, or make a reservation at the Service Desk
with your current ID.
Study Room Policy
Study rooms are for group study by IIT students using the Downtown Campus
Libraries' resources. You may reserve a room in advance at the Service
Desk with your current ID.
Library Cell Phone Policy
Before entering the Library, cell phones must be turned off. In addition,
you must leave the Library before using your cell phone. We have been inundated
with complaints about the disturbances caused by cell phone usage in the
Library, which has forced us to adopt this policy.
For those of you with an emergency situation who must be reachable by
cell phone, you can leave your phone on ONLY if it gets your attention
by some method other than ringing. If you have one that vibrates quietly
or uses a blinking light, you can leave it on while you are in the
Library. This exception does not change the requirement that you leave the Library
to use your phone.
Library Food and Drink Policy
1) Drinks are permitted, except in the computer labs, if they are
in a reusable hard plastic or metal container with a permanent lid that
does not have to be removed to drink. Water is allowed in a standard
water bottle with a securable cap.
Not allowed are: cans, styrofoam or paper cups, soft drinks or juice in bottles.
2) Food is not permitted in the Library.
3) No food or drinks of any kind are allowed in the computer labs.
Please Guard Your Valuables
Personal belongings, such as laptops, wallets, purses, briefcases, cell phones,
and Palmtops should be carried with you whenever you leave your study area. If
they are left unattended, security personnel may remove them to a safer
