Program in Intellectual Property Law

Career Information - Events and Resources

Careers in Intellectual Property Law
The Intellectual Property Law Society, the Intellectual Property Program and the Career Planning Center sponsor this program each year in September. Professors from the IP program talk to students about careers in intellectual property law, the upcoming “on-campus interviewing” season, and the different avenues for pursuing careers in intellectual property. For more information about this year's event, check the IP event page.

IPLS Resume Workshop
The Intellectual Property Law Society (IPLS) organizes an annual Student Resume Workshop. The Student Resume Workshop provides IPLS members with the opportunity to receive constructive criticism regarding their resumes from Intellectual Property faculty and area Intellectual Property practitioners.

The Student Resume Workshop consists of sessions during which faculty and practitioners meet individually with students to discuss the students' resumes. The Workshop typically runs in October-November. Workshop sessions will last either twenty or thirty minutes, and most will take place at the law school between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Mondays through Thursdays throughout the duration of the program. Practitioner availability may dictate that some sessions take place at alternate times or locations. Details will be posted on the IPLS Web site.

AIPLA Job Fair
The American Intellectual Property Law Association sponsors a Student/Junior Member Job Fair each fall in conjunction with their annual meeting. Information about the next job fair is available at AIPLA's Web site.

Annual Patent Law Interview Program
The Annual Patent Law Interview Program sponsored by Loyola School of Law is held every year in August. Prospective positions are for summer associate and entry-level attorney positions. Early registration is required. For more information, visit Loyola's Career Resources page.
