Work Study Opportunity

The Law Offices is offering a work study opportunity in one of its skills-based programs. The Legal and Judicial Externship Programs include over 90 different placements including judges, government agencies, and private organizations and firms. The programs have an opportunity for a work study student to do administrative projects under the supervision of Professor Vivien Gross or her Administrative Assistant Carole Ross.

This position is only for students who are work study eligible. There will be about 8-10 hours of work per week. Contact Financial Aid if you are unsure whether or not you are eligible. Please send a letter of interest to Tracy Kish at tkish@kentlaw.edu by Tuesday, September 7, 2010.

LEGAL EXTERNSHIPS

Spring 2011 Semester: Externships with U.S. Attorney's Office
Northern District of Illinois

If you are interested in exposure to and possible participation in federal trial and appellate practice while assisting the U.S. Attorney's Office in handling its multitude of important cases, please pick up an application in Room 612 from Carole Ross, administrative assistant to Professor Gross.

Completed applications must be received at the Office of the U.S. Attorney by Monday, September 20, 2010. The reason for this accelerated date is because each accepted extern must go through a security clearance, which takes several weeks.
To receive law school credit for this externship, should you be selected by the U.S. Attorney's Office, you must enroll in the law school's Legal Externship Program. The law school's externship applications for Spring semester 2011 will be available in mid-October in Room 600 Law Offices reception area, outside of the cafeteria, and in the Career Services office.

Professor Gross will be happy to answer any questions you may have about either the Legal Externship Program and/or the externship position with the U.S. Attorney's Office.

U.S. Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights (For Credit Only)
