Sheldon H. Nahmod Civil Rights Award

Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology
565 W. Adams St. in the Marovitz Courtroom (first floor)
February 6
3 to 5 p.m.

Looking within our own IIT community for civil rights advocates, no other IIT member embraces the immediacy of the civil rights movement quite like Sheldon H. Nahmod, a professor at IIT Chicago-Kent. His amazing work in supporting civil rights and civil liberties inspires us all, especially our students at IIT. As a result, in January 2010, the Sheldon H. Nahmod Civil Rights Award was established to honor students and student groups who are working to progress the civil rights movement.
The Student Center for Diversity and Inclusion is proud to announce the two recipients of the 2013 Sheldon H. Nahmod IIT Civil Rights Award:

Blythe Buchholz
Recipient of the Social Justice Award
Doctorate of philosophy candidate
Illinois Institute of Technology

Maria R. Gonzalez
Recipient of the Social Action Award
Fourth-year sociology undergraduate
Illinois Institute of Technology

Students are encouraged to attend this event!
