Please Read the Following Information Very Carefully!

Fall 2008 and Summer 2008 course registration and information is available through the myIIT portal. Use the System Access instructions below to log into the myIIT portal and register for classes.

Fall 2008: The Fall 2008 Registration Bulletin, including the final schedule of classes, is available outside the third floor cafeteria or by clicking on the link above. Fall registration will take place from Friday, April 25 through Tuesday, April 29. You may register at any time during that period. After the end of the registration period, the registration requests will be processed according to each student's registration priority. In other words, registration will not be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis; as long as you register during the designated period, you will have an equal chance of being admitted to a class as other students within your registration priority group. Within divisions, registration priority is based on anticipated graduation date, with the earliest graduation date having the highest priority.

To learn what Fall classes you have been admitted into, you must check the Online Registration site on or after Thursday, May 1. Registering for a class during the initial registration period is no guarantee that you will be admitted to the class -- you must check the web site on or after Thursday, May 1 to learn what classes you have been admitted to. At that time, you may add, drop, or make adjustments to your class schedule in "real time."

Summer 2008: The initial registration period for the Summer 2008 term is now closed, but you may add and drop any open courses through the end of the first week of the Summer term. Click on the link above for the Summer Registration Bulletin and schedule of classes.

SYSTEM ACCESS

To access the myIIT portal for the first time, each student must log in using his or her IIT-assigned UID (User ID) for the username and the IIT-assigned password. On subsequent visits to the myIIT portal, you will continue to use your IIT-assigned UID as your username along with a password you create during the process outlined below.

1. Find your UID (User ID) online

Go to http://myuid.iit.edu/ and fill out the MyUID search form. Your UID will appear in "bold black" text in the Student Results area.

2. Determine your initial myIIT password

Your initial password to access the myIIT portal consists of the two-digit month and two-digit day of your birth date plus the last 4-digits of your CWID number (the 8-digit number on your student ID card). For example, if your birth date is June 8 and the last 4-digits of your CWID are 1234, your initial password would be 06081234. When you log into the portal for the first time, you will be prompted to create a new password.

3. Access the myIIT portal

Once you have your UID and password, you can access the myIIT portal. On the myIIT login page, enter your UID and password (these serve as your myIIT username and password) in the login area on the left side of the screen.

4. Click on the Web for Students icon to register for classes

To register for classes click on the "Web for Students" icon on the upper right hand side of the screen.

Once You Have Logged Into IIT Web for Students

Your initial log-in will gain you access to a variety of menu choices.

Requesting/Adding a Course
  • From the main menu, select the term.
  • From the Course Menu, select "course sections."
  • From Subject menu, select "LAW" and click the "submit" button.
  • Select the first course for which you would like to register and click the blue "ADD (course call number) to your schedule" text under the course Call Number section.
  • The Registration Module will display the course for which you have requested a registration under the section "Currently Registered Classes."
  • To Add another course, click on the Select Another Course link right above "Call Number" heading and repeat the above steps.
Dropping a Course
  • After selecting the correct term from the term menu, click the Drop Class link on the Registration Menu.
  • A list of the current course requests will be displayed.
  • Click on the drop down menu and select "DROP" under the ACTION column in for the course that you would like to drop.
  • Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the "Submit" button.
  • The drop request will be processed and the remainder of your schedule will appear on the refreshed page.
IMPORTANT NOTE:  The schedule that you have just requested is NOT your final schedule.

Registering for a class during the initial registration period is no guarantee that you will be admitted to the class - you must check after the system reopens to learn what classes you have been admitted to.

Finished Requesting Courses?

  • If you wish, you can print a copy of the course schedule displayed for your records.
  • Once the registration period has closed, we will audit each student's requested course schedule in accordance with Chicago-Kent's priority registration system.  You must check the system again after the system reopens to receive your schedule.  The schedule displayed at this time will be your official schedule for the term.

Checking Your Course Schedule

  • Log in to the system using the instructions above.
  • Click on "Registration" in the upper right hand corner.
  • Select the appropriate term.
  • Click on "Detailed Schedule" from the Registration menu.
  • The courses for which you are registered will appear.

Need to Change a Course?

  • If you need to change your schedule, you can add and drop courses via the Registration Module.
  • To add or drop a course, simply follow the steps outlined above under the "Adding a Course, Dropping a Course" sections.

Account Holds

  • If you have a Registration Hold, or any other type of hold, on your account that prevents your registration, please contact the office that placed the hold on the account.  You can check the status of the holds on your account by clicking on the Holds link from the Student Services Menu under the Student Records heading just after the log-in screen.
