Computer Exam Registration: Sign Up Electronically by
July 13, 2005!
Exam Number: Your exam number for the Summer 2005 term will
be e-mailed to you later this week. This number should be
used for all exams for the Summer 2005 term. Please bring
this number with you to each of your final exams. You should
also use this number as your "student ID number"
when downloading the exam software to your own computer.
See below for further instructions.
Exams on Computer
The deadline for students to sign up for exams on computer
is July 13, 2005. To sign up for exams on computer,
log in to your Webmail account, click on the Web for Students
link and then follow the appropriate links to the computer
exam registration page. Make your selection and press "Submit
Selection" button. A confirmation number will be generated
for you. After the July 13, 2005 deadline, your final
exam schedule, with the administration method, will be e-mailed
to you.
Please note: Signing up is not a guarantee that you
will be able to take your exam on computer. We are limited
in the number of exams we can administer on computer. Due
to limited space in classrooms and computer labs, you may
be scheduled to take a "laptop" exam in a computer
lab. You will be notified after the sign up deadline as
to the status of your request and the location of your exams.
Not all professors allow students to use computers (lab
or laptop) for final exams. If your professor has not returned
a preference form to the Registrar's Office, we will assume
that the professor will NOT allow the use of computers
for that exam. If the option is not available on the sign
up page, the professor has not returned the form to us.
Lab Computer Users: Although the program is simple
to use, please spend a few minutes reviewing the online
tutorial at: http://www.kentlaw.edu/clc/examsoft/softtest.shtml
In addition, you may run the practice version from any lab
computer (go to Start, Programs, SofTest, Softest; then
click on the Practice button on the lower right of the screen).
Laptop Users: All students using laptops must install
the new version of the ExamSoft software prior to final
exams. If you have used the software previously, you must
uninstall the old version and install the new version! Please
see the FAQ document on ExamSoft's Web site if you have
questions about this process - http://216.219.244.119/faq/faq.htm
Please make sure that your computer is properly configured
to access the Chicago-Kent LAN and that the ExamSoft registration/qualification
process has been completed prior to your final exams. Students
with computers that are not properly configured, not registered,
or experiencing technical difficulties will be given blue
books and will write their final exams. No exceptions to
this policy will be made. Additionally, to avoid any technical
or computer difficulties, please make sure you bring the
following items with you to the exam. ExamSoft Registration
number and qualification numbers Your network card and cable
Floppy disk drive Your laptop power cord If you have any
technical questions, please check the FAQ page at http://216.219.244.119/FAQ/faq.htm
or contact the CLC at helpdesk@kentlaw.edu .
If you have any exam administration questions, please contact
the Registrar's Office at 312-906-5080. Thank you and good
luck with your exams!
