Change of Division Petition
A student who wants to change from the Evening to the Day Division, or vice versa, must submit a request to change divisions to the Registrar by Friday, November 17. This request should be submitted on the Chicago-Kent Web for Students https://webmail.kentlaw.edu/exchange/logon.asp. Click on the Web-for-Students icon and navigate to the appropriate form.
Changes are permitted on a space-available basis. If all students can be accommodated, all will be permitted to change divisions; if all students cannot be accommodated, a lottery drawing will be held to determine which students will be permitted to change.
First year students are not eligible to change divisions until after the completion of the first year.
Exams on Computer Sign-Up
Computer Exam Registration: Sign Up Electronically Monday, November 13 through Sunday November 26!
Exam Number: Your exam number for the Fall 2006 term will be e-mailed to you during the week of November 13th. This number should be used for all exams for the Fall 2006 term. Please bring this number with you to each of your final exams. You should also use this number as your "student ID number" when downloading the exam software to your own computer. See below for further instructions.
Exams on Computer
The deadline for students to sign up for exams on computer is November 26, 2006. To sign up for exams on computer, log in to your Webmail account click on the Web for Students link and then follow the appropriate links to the computer exam registration page. Make your selection and press "Submit Selection" button. A confirmation number will be generated for you. Sometime after November 26, 2006, your final exam schedule, with the administration method, will be e-mailed to you. PLEASE NOTE: We are continuously receiving requests from faculty to make computers available for their exam(s). If your professor has not yet submitted a form, please check with them or continue to check the system. Seats may open up.
Please note: Signing up is not a guarantee that you will be able to take your exam on computer. We are limited in the number of exams we can administer on computer. Due to limited space in classrooms and computer labs, you may be scheduled to take a "laptop" exam in a computer lab. You will be notified after the sign up deadline as to the status of your request and the location of your exams.
Lab Computer Users: Although the program is simple to use, please spend some time familiarizing yourself with how to use the SofTest help file that is located on the network. The file may be found at \\kentnet2\exams\fallexams. You will receive further information from the CLC about the SofTest program.
Laptop Users: Please see the FAQ document on ExamSoft's Web site if you have questions about this process - http://www.examsoft.com/faq or see the CLC website for more information.
If you have any exam administration questions, please contact the Registrar's Office at 312-906-5080. Thank you and good luck with your exams!
Exam Reschedule Requests: Deadline November 10 no later than 5:00 pm
The Student Handbook requires that you take your final exams at the times scheduled unless you have an exam conflict (as defined below), or you have a "serious illness or other extraordinary or compelling reason" beyond your control. If you have an exam conflict or believe you have other reasons justifying the rescheduling of an exam, please complete the Final Exam Reschedule form on the Web for Students site (log onto your Webmail account, click on the Web for Students icon, and navigate to the Final Exam Reschedule form). The deadline for submitting an exam reschedule request is Friday, November 10. This deadline will be strictly enforced. If your request is approved, the Registrar's office will notify you later this semester of the rescheduled date, time, and location of your exam.
Under current policy, a student is deemed to have an "exam conflict" if the student has two exams at the same time, or has two or more exams within 24 hours (e.g., exams at 8:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., or at 6:00 p.m. and 1:15 the following afternoon). A conflict does not exist if two exams are scheduled exactly 24 hours apart (e.g., exams at 8:30 a.m. one morning and 8:30 a.m. the next morning).
Pass/Fail Revocation - Deadline December 1, 2006 by 5:00 pm
A student may revoke the pass/fail election and convert from the pass/fail election to the standard grading system at any time up to the last day of class for the semester. The revocation form is available on the Chicago-Kent Web for Students https://webmail.kentlaw.edu/exchange/logon.asp. Click on the Web-for-Students icon and navigate to the appropriate form.
