Deadline - Final Exam Reschedules
Friday, April 30, 1999 is the last day to request a reschedule of a final exam.  Section 7.2 of the student handbook outlines the procedure and conditions for reschedules.
§7.2     Exam Schedule and Conflicts

The examination schedule is published with the class schedule before registration each semester. All students must take their examinations at the scheduled time, except as provided herein and in §§ 7.3 and 7.4. If a student registers for two courses with examinations scheduled at the same time, one examination will be rescheduled for the same day at a different hour, or for Evening Division students, within 24 hours. If a final exam is to be rescheduled, a Final Exam Reschedule form must be completed and submitted to the Registrar. In addition, the student must sign an Affirmation of Nondisclosure stating that he/she has not and will not communicate with anyone about any aspect of the examination.

A student will be deemed to have a conflict if he or she has three exams scheduled consecutively. A conflict does not exist if two exams are scheduled on the same day, but at different hours.
Students who believe that they meet the above criteria may complete an Exam Reschedule Form and bring it to the Office of Student Services for approval.  Forms are available in the racks outside of the Registrar's Office.

DEADLINE EXTENDED - Fall 1999 Teaching Assistant Applications

Applications are now available for Fall 1999 AEP Teaching Assistant Positions.  We will be hiring TAs for all first year courses (Torts, Criminal Law, and Contracts), second year evening division courses (Civil Procedure and Justice), Constitutional Law, and Business Organizations.  If you excelled in any of these courses and have cumulative GPA above 3.0, you are invited to apply for a position.  Becoming a Teaching Assistant is a wonderful way to build a relationship with one of your favorite professors, and to help your fellow students.  All teaching assistants will be required to make a commitment of 10 hours per week to the program and will receive a stipend and/or academic credit for participation.

You are encouraged, but not required, to express your interest to any professor with whom you are interested in working, prior to submitting your application.  Applications are available outside of rooms 544 and 546.  All applications must be submitted to room 546.

We realize that the decision to apply is somewhat dependent on your schedule for the fall semester. Because the schedules are not yet available, the deadline for applications has been extended until the Fall 1999 schedule is finalized.

Orientation Volunteers Needed!

Each year, new 1L students tell us that their most informative and valuable information comes from other students.  As someone who has been there, your advice can be critical to the success of our incoming class.  The Office of Student Services coordinates the Orientation Leader and Mentor programs each year. However, in order to make them a real success, we need YOU!  If you are interested in becoming an Orientation Leader, a Mentor, or better yet, both, please contact Chris Matheny in the Office of Student Services.

We will be e-mailing you very soon with details about the programs.  The time commitment is minimal and the experience is a lot of fun.  Please stop by room 544 with any questions or to sign up!

Thanks for your help!
