Save the Date: Family & Friends
Day, January 31.
Please invite your spouses, partners, parents,
siblings, children, and friends for an opportunity to visit
the law school and get a taste of what you are experiencing
as a law student. The program will include a continental
breakfast, mini-classes taught by Dean Sowle and Professor
Brill, and a mock trial demonstration featuring members
of our award winning trial team. If you would like to attend,
please complete the response form at www.kentlaw.edu/depts/stuservices/familyfriendsrsvp.html
by January 27, 2004.
This program is open to all law students. If you have any

Spring U-Pass and New ID Card Distribution.
All day division students who are considered
full-time for the spring 2004 semester will receive a U-Pass,
which provides unlimited rides on the CTA from January 20
- May 22, 2004. Status as a full-time student is determined
by your official division status, and not by the number
of credit hours you take in a particular semester. If
you qualify for a U-Pass and want to obtain it during the
first available distribution, you must have been registered
for spring classes by 5:00pm on December 19, 2003.
Spring U-Pass cards and new Chicago-Kent ID cards will
be distributed in the Lobby on:
Thursday, January 15 at 12:00-3:00
Friday, January 16 at 12:00-3:00
Tuesday, January 20 at 11:45-1:00 and 4:00-6:00
If you were not registered as a full-time student by December
19, 2003, you had a financial hold on your account on that
date, or you did not have an ID picture on file in the Registrar's
Office by that date, you will not receive a U-Pass during
this initial distribution period. Students who qualify for
the U-Pass after December 19 or were not included in the
initial spring U-Pass request sent to CTA will have passes
ordered for them on January 26, 2004. We expect these passes
to arrive at the law school by February 4, 2004.
Health Insurance Enrollment and
Waivers for Spring.
It is not too late to enroll in the Student Health Insurance
Plan through IIT. The spring coverage period is from January
13 - August 14, 2004. You must enroll by January 26, 2004.
Enrollment forms and additional information about cost and
coverage can be found online at www.iit.edu/%7Eshc/
or in the Office of Student Services, Room 310F.
Domestic students may waive student health insurance coverage
if the student presents evidence of other health insurance
coverage under a plan which provides benefits equal to or
greater than the Student Health Insurance Plan. If you were
enrolled in student health insurance in the fall and now
qualify for a waiver, you must submit the waiver form online
by January 26, 2004.
