Don't miss the last study break on Monday.
Research suggests that you should take frequent breaks while you study. For example, some experts claim that the average person can only concentrate for about 50 minutes. After that, your ability to learn and retain information decline. For every hour that you study, you should treat yourself to a 10 minute break. We're here to help...

Feeling thirsty? Grab a bottle of water when you enter the library. (Bottles of water will be available until they run out.) More information about study breaks in the library will be posted near the entrance.

New student health insurance plan for 2004-05.
As of August 15, 2004, IIT will offer students a single, comprehensive plan that is designed to meet your health care needs. The new plan was designed to help control increasing costs while providing you with one of the most comprehensive student health plans available.

The Chickering Group - An Aetna Company will continue to provide coverage under the new plan. Highlights of the new plan include:

  • Access to Aetna's national Preferred Provider Network, with over 579,000 health care professionals nationwide;
  • $100,000 lifetime aggregate maximum per condition;
  • Annual deductible of $100 for care received from Preferred Providers and a $300 annual deductible for care received from Non-preferred Providers;
  • Prescription drug coverage of 100% up to a $1,250 maximum per year after a $10 copay for generic drugs and a $30 copay for brand-name drugs;
  • Coverage for birth control pills and devices;
  • Discounts on vision care and alternative health care services;
  • Unlimited medical evacuation and repatriation; and
  • Annual premium of $880.

In addition to the benefits provided by the health care plan, an optional Dental Discount Plan will also be available to you on a voluntary basis for a $48 annual premium. Optional coverage for dependants will also be available.
