Preparing for and Getting the Most
Out of Class
Don't miss the first workshop in ASP's "Getting
Started" series. Get advice from faculty and students
about taking notes, reading cases, and handling the Socratic
method. Handouts will be provided to everyone who attends.
Day students should attend on Tuesday, August 31,
at 11:30am in the Auditorium. The program will
also be offered for evening students on Wednesday,
September 1, at 5:00pm in room C50. Everyone is

Mentor Program for 1Ls
Mentor assignments will be emailed to all
particiapting students this week. If you are an upper-division
student, want to be a mentor, and haven't yet signed up,
please email Jamie
Lake as soon as possible.
Health Insurance Enrollment &
Waiver Deadlines are September 1!
All students registered for at least 12
credit hours are automatically enrolled in and billed for
student health insurance. This applies to both Day and Evening
Division students. In addition, all full-time and part-time
J-1 and F-1 international students are automatically enrolled
in student health insurance.
If you are enrolled for at least 12 credit hours and already
have health insurance coverage from another provider, please
complete the online Waiver
Form by September 1, 2004.
If you are enrolled for less than 12 credit hours and want
student health insurance, you can elect coverage by completing
the online Enrollment
Form by September 1, 2004.
Those of you enrolled in the student health insurance plan
will receive your insurance cards by the first week of October.
Please verify that you have been enrolled prior to receiving
this card by either calling IIT Student Health Center at
(312) 808-7100 or checking your account to make sure that
you have been charged for student health insurance.

Important Health Insurance Announcement
If you want to be enrolled in the student
health insurance plan, please confirm that you have been
charged for health insurance. To access your account online,
please log on to the IIT Web
for Students. You can use your social security number
and birthdate to log on to the system. Please follow the
directions carefully. If this is your first time logging
on tot he sysytem, you will have to create a pin number.
Once you will access the main selection screen, please choose
"Account Summary" under Student Records to find
a copy of your bill for this semester.
If you have not been charged for student health insurance
and want to confirm that you are enrolled, please contact
IIT Student Health Center at (312) 808-7100.
Use Credit and Debit Cards at the
You can now use your MasterCard or Visa
credit cards and debit cards to buy food at the cafeteria.
There is a $5.00 minimum charge.
