2004 1098Ts Are Now Available
The following message is from the IIT
Bursar's Office: 2004 1098T's are now available. This
document reports the amounts of tuition billed to you or
on your behalf and the amount of scholarships (not loans)
awarded to you during calendar year 2004. Please note that
this period does not correspond to an academic year. The
1098T is a reporting requirement under IRS regulations under
the Taxpayer Relief Act of 1997 (TRA 97), and this same
information is being provided to the Internal Revenue Service.
This form is required to be made available to you by January
31, 2005 . You may need the information provided on the
IRS Form 1098T if you plan on claiming the deduction for
tuition and fees or claiming an education credit on your
Federal income tax return IRS Form 1040. You are directed
to IRS Publication 970, Tax Benefits for Education, or IRS
Form 8863, Education Credits, for further information on
education related deductions and credits.
This form will be mailed to the official address that you
have on file with Illinois Institute of Technology. This
form is also available at the following web site immediately:
This is a third party provider site (Affiliated Computer
Services - ACS/TCRS) and from the above link you may access
your demographic and financial information relating to TRA
97. You may view and print your 1098-T; modify the address
to which the 1098-T form is mailed; and view and print detailed
financial information provided on your Form 1098-T.
