ASP Teaching Assistant Position
Available
There is an unexpected opening to be a Teaching
Assistant for Professor Harding's Property class. Professor
Harding's class meets on Mondays and Thursdays from 1:00-2:15pm
and on Tuesdays at 1:55-3:10pm. Applicants should be able
to attend these class sessions, have at least a 3.0 GPA,
and have received a B+ or higher in their property class.

Late Pick-Up for U-Passes
U-Passes are available for pick up from Denise
Lang outside of Dean Sowle's office. You can pick up
your U-Pass from Ms. Lang between 10:00-11:00am or 2:30-3:30pm.
This week wil be your last chance to get these cards. If
your card was not available during the initial distribution,
you will receive an email when it arrives.
U-Pass Announcements from CTA
Lost or Stolen Cards
To get a replacement U-Pass, students should bring their
valid student ID and $35 (cash, credit card, or money order)
replacement fee to the CTA general offices. A replacement
U-Pass will be issud and sent to the school within 5-7 business
days after a request is made. CTA will replace lost or stolen
U-Pass cards only once per academic term.
Captured in Fare Equipment or Damaged Cards
On the bus... The card will be collected. Students
will be asked to complete a Record of Captured Farecard
(form 3027). You will be allowed to ride free and given
a pink copy of the form for your records. If needed, a transfer
will be provided. You must then go to the CTA general offices
to request a replacement U-Pass. When you present the form
to the customer service agent, you will be given a five-day
unlimited ride transit pass to use until the replacement
card is received by the school.
At the rail station... The card will be collected.
Students will be asked to complete a FareDiscrepancy Report
(form 3024). You will be given a $4.00 transit card and
a copy of the form for your records. You must then go to
the CTA general offices to request a replacement U-Pass.
When you present the form to the customer service agent,
you will be given a five-day unlimited ride transit pass
to use until the replacement card is received by the school.
CTA Offices
CTA General Office is located at 567 West Lake Street. The
offices are one block east of the Green Line Clinton stop.
The Customer Service Department is located on the second
floor and is open Monday-Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm.
Health Insurance
Deadline is Thursday, January 26
Enrollment: If you want to enroll in the
IIT student health insurance plan for the spring, you must
submit an online
enrollment form by January 26, 2006. For more information
about the student health insurance plan, please visit IIT's
Student Health Center website or the Health
Insurance FAQ. If you enrolled in the student health
insurance plan in the fall, you do not need to enroll again.
Waiver: Any student (day or evening division)
enrolled for 12 or more credits in the spring, will be automatically
enrolled in student health insurance. If you have your own
insurance coverage, you can waive student health insurance
by completing the online
waiver form by January 26, 2006. If you previously waived
student health insurance, the waiver will remain on your
account indefefinitely unless you re-enrolled in the plan
after you submitted that waiver. If you are on a F1 or J1
visa, you cannot waive student health insurance.
Cancellation: If you were enrolled in
student health insurance in the fall and no longer want
the coverage either because you have another insurance plan
or are now registered for less than 12 credits, you can
cancel student health insurance for the spring by contacting
Melody Jack at jack@iit.edu
by January 26, 2006. You will receive a refund on your account
for the spring.
I-Save Rx Prescription Drug Program
Some students enrolled in the student health
insurance plan meet the maximum allowance for prescription
drug coverage. If you are one of these students, you might
want to consider joining I-Save Rx, Governor Blagojevich's
new prescription drug importation program, which allows
residents to purchase lower cost, prescription drugs from
Europe and Canada. Some of the drugs covered under this
program are Advair, Allegra, Prozac, Otho-TriCyclen and
others. All are available to you at significant savings.
