Safe Space Workshop
Chicago-Kent will be holding a Safe Space Workshop specifically designed for the Chicago-Kent faculty, staff, and students on February 28 from 12-2 and March 1 from 3-5pm. The purpose of a Safe Space Workshop is to prepare members of the campus community to serve as a resource for students on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender issues. A Safe Space Program also provides a way for people supportive of LGBT concerns to identify themselves to the campus or workplace and to help gay or questioning students, faculty, staff, and employees. The overarching goal of the program is to educate the public and provide a safe atmosphere and open environment for people who have questions about gender and sexuality, whether in their own lives, in the lives of family and friends, or in the wider culture.
