Exam Rescheduling

Exam rescheduling will open on April 3, 2007. Lab computers are not available for rescheduled exams. If you are planning to take your exam on computer, make sure to sign-up for exams on computer before submitting the exam reschedule form.

Exam Conflict/Reschedule Requests: April 3 - April 16. The Student Handbook requires that you take your final exams at the times scheduled unless you have an exam conflict (as defined below), or you have a "serious illness or other extraordinary or compelling reason" beyond your control. If you have an exam conflict or believe you have other reasons justifying the rescheduling of an exam, please complete the Final Exam Reschedule form.  The form will be available beginning Tuesday, April 3. To complete the form, log into your Webmail account, click on the Web for Students icon, and navigate to the Final Exam Reschedule form).  The deadline for submitting an exam reschedule request is Monday, April 16. This deadline will be strictly enforced. If your request is approved, you will be notified later this semester of the rescheduled date, time, and location of your exam.

Under current policy, a student is deemed to have an "exam conflict" if the student has two exams at the same time, or has two or more exams within 24 hours (e.g., exams at 8:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., or at 6:00 p.m. and 1:15 the following afternoon). A conflict does not exist if two exams are scheduled exactly 24 hours apart (e.g., exams at 8:30 a.m. one morning and 8:30 a.m. the next morning).

Bar Exam Preparation

We have a new Bar Exam Preparation page for students. Please review the site for information on bar prep courses. Thank Gabriela Reyes-Noyola for her work on pulling the information together. This year we will have a free Early Bird bar preparation course for 3L and 4L students. The first event will be an overview of the bar presented in the auditorium by Prof. Conviser at 12:45 on April 3, 2007, with subsequent lectures on April 7 and April 21. Time and topics TBA.

CTA Three-Track Slowdown

Starting April 2, 2007, the Red, Brown, and Purple lines will run on three tracks instead of four. Fewer trains will be able to run during the a.m. and p.m. rush periods due to the reduction of tracks and commuting times may double.  The most significant slowdowns will occur on northbound service from 3p.m. to 6:30p.m., but there will also be a slowdown during the morning rush from 6a.m. to 9:30a.m. The CTA recommends that you consider alternate service, such as CTA buses, as there are numerous bus routes that serve the affected corridor. For further information, please read the FAQ on Three-Track Service. The Metra Union Pacific North line and the BNSF line will have additional trains stopping at stations in the city during the morning and evening rush.
