Adjunct Faculty Biographies

The Honorable Maxwell Griffin, Jr.

Judge Griffin teaches a trial advocacy class and works with the school’s mock trial competition teams.

Judge Griffin had a 22 year career as a trial attorney that included serving as an Assistant State’s Attorney in the Civil Actions Bureau; work as a plaintiff’s personal injury lawyer; and was elected partner at the law firm of Hinshaw and Culbertson. In 2003, Judge Griffin was named one of the top 20 tort defense lawyers in Chicago by Chicago Lawyer Magazine.

Judge Griffin is a 1980 graduate of the University of Notre Dame Law School. In April of 2003, he was appointed as an Associate Judge in the Circuit Court of Cook County. He currently serves in the Child Protection Division of the Cook County Juvenile Court. He is the author of a chapter on medical and mental rights of minors in the IICLE’s Juvenile Law Handbook.
