Adjunct Faculty Biographies

Meghan Kieffer

Meghan Kieffer serves as System Senior Vice President/General Counsel and Corporate Responsibility Officer for Provena Health. In this role, she is responsible for the leadership and oversight of Provena Health’s Law Department, transactions, litigation and Captive Insurance Company, Governance and the Corporate Responsibility Program. Meghan and her team also provide legal opinions and review of all system contracts/agreements. Ms. Kieffer has been actively involved in governmental and state investigations and challenges.

Ms. Kieffer was named Senior Vice President/General Counsel after serving more than eight years as System Vice President/General Counsel and Corporate Responsibility Officer. She is responsible for the management and oversight of Provena’s Audit/Corporate Responsibility Program, Board Governance, HIPAA (Health Insurance and Accountability Act) initiative, legal department, and insurance. Prior to joining Provena Health, she served as In-house Counsel and Trust Administrator for the Sisters of Mercy, Chicago Region. She earned her law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law. She is admitted to the Illinois and Northern District of Illinois Bars.

Meghan is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association and the American Bar Association. She serves on the Illinois Provider Trust Board of Directors, the insurance company of the Illinois Hospital Association. In 2010, Meghan will be an Adjunct Professor at Chicago Kent College of Law, teaching Health Law Basics.
