The Honorable Robert G. Moss
Bob Moss is a Senior Texas District Judge. He earned a Ph. B. (Psych) from Northwestern University (1966) and a J. D.from IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law (1973).
Judge Moss began his legal career as a Probation Officer for the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois - Juvenile Division. Following graduation he joined the Guardian Ad Litem’s office for that court. After eight years as a litigator, Bob Moss became a Judge of a County Criminal Court in Dallas, Texas. He later presided over a Family District Court and then a Civil District Court. Judge Moss retired from the bench in 2004 after serving for 23 years and returned home to Chicago.
Since his retirement from the bench, Judge Moss has been a Litigation and Appellate Consultant and a frequent author and presenter of MCLE programs. He has over 15 years experience as a Mediator and Arbitrator, and has also been a Legal Technologist since 1997.
Judge Moss is a member of the American Constitution Society for Law and Policy and of the American Civil Liberties Union. He is the Vice-Chair of the Constitutional Law and Civil Rights Committee of the Chicago Bar Association. The judge previously served on the Board of Directors of the Dallas Chapter of the Anti-Defamation League.
