Gary S. Laser
Associate Professor of Law, Director of Clinical Education and Co-Director of the Program in Criminal Litigation |
Professor Laser has been a member of the Chicago-Kent faculty since 1975.
He received his bachelor’s and law degrees from the
University of Miami, where he served as notes editor
of the Law
Review and was elected a member of the Wig
and Robe. He was admitted to the Florida and Illinois
Bars in 1965, and served as director of the Neighborhood
Legal Assistance Center in Chicago from 1965 to 1970.
He was director of the Northwestern University School
of Law Legal Assistance Clinic from 1968 to 1973.
Prior to joining the Chicago-Kent faculty, Professor Laser spent a year as
assistant professor and director of the Urban Legal
Laboratory at Boston College Law School. In 1976,
he founded the Chicago-Kent In-House Clinical Education
Program, a fee-generating teaching law firm that provides
clinical practice experiences under the close supervision
of teaching attorneys.
