Mr. Sarna received his undergraduate degree from Illinois Institute of Technology in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Computer Architecture. After graduation, he worked as a software engineer for established technology companies like Motorola and vibrant Silicon Valley start ups like Luxxon Corporation. He also was a business advisor for a small business in New York.
Mr. Sarna received the Intellectual Property certificate at Chicago-Kent. He spent his first-year summer as a judicial extern at the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit Court of Illinois.
While at Chicago-Kent, he assisted Professor Timothy Holbrook with research on the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuits’ law on the Doctrine of Equivalent. Mr. Sarna also was a research assistant to Professor Dinwoodie whom he helped update his case law book on Trademarks and Unfair Competition.
Mr. Sarna is now a member of the California bar and a Patent Associate at Fenwick & West, LLP.
