Rachel Moran

Chicago-Kent Honors Scholar
Class of 2008

Biographical Information

Ms. Moran graduated summa cum laude from Houghton College in 2005 with a B.A. in Political Science and minors in Spanish and Communication.  Prior to attending Chicago-Kent, she served extensively with public service organizations in Mexico, Taiwan and China. 

As a member of the Moot Court Honor Society at Chicago-Kent, Ms. Moran won the 2008 National Moot Court Championship and was honored by the American College of Trial Lawyers as the National Best Advocate.  She also won the 15th Annual Ilana Diamond Rovner Appellate Advocacy Competition.  As a member of the Chicago-Kent Trial Team, she was named Champion and Best Advocate at the 2008 National Ethics Trial Competition.  Ms. Moran additionally served as Notes & Comments editor for the Chicago-Kent Law Review and as teaching assistant for Legal Writing I and II and Criminal Law, and participated actively in the Criminal Defense Clinic at Chicago-Kent. 

During the summers after her first and second years at Chicago-Kent, Ms. Moran externed for the Honorable Ann Williams at the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and interned with both the U.S. Army JAG Corps and U.S. Department of Justice.
