Biographical Information:
Karlyn was homeschooled in a military family that eventually settled down in Texas. She graduated cum laude from the Honors Program at Texas Lutheran University with a BBA in Marketing and a minor in Spanish. After graduation, Karlyn worked as a proofreader in San Antonio. She moved to Chicago with her husband, who also is a law student.
At Chicago-Kent, Karlyn spent two months of her 1L summer interning with the Army JAG Corps in Baumholder, Germany. She spent the rest of her summer and the fall of her 2L year interning with the 19th Judicial Circuit Court in Lake County. Karlyn won the Best Oralist award in the summer 2008 moot court competition and is currently a member of Moot Court Honor Society. She has been a member of the Student Editorial Board for the Center for Access to Justice and Technology since her first year at Chicago-Kent.
