Maris Mapolski

Chicago-Kent Honors Scholar
Class of 2010

Biographical Information:

Maris Mapolski graduated from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon, in 1999 with a BA in Fine Art.  During her time at Lewis & Clark, she spent a semester studying in Poland, designed costume props for the theatre, helped edit an Honors thesis on economics in post-Communist economies, and worked in the Public Relations and Archives departments.

After leaving school, Ms. Mapolski worked as a legal assistant until 2007, specializing in corporate law and small business succession planning.  Chicago-Kent was the logical next step, where the Intellectual Property program provides an opportunity to combine the law with her arts background.

At Chicago-Kent, Ms. Mapolski is a member of the Moot Court Honor Society.  Between semesters, she volunteers with Greyhound Pets of America to place retired racing greyhounds in permanent homes.  After graduation, she plans to return to the Pacific Northwest, unless Illinois acquires a large mountain range before 2010.
