Honors Scholars Program

2010 Application Guidelines

Application deadline: Monday, January 25, 2010

Candidates selected as Honors Scholars receive annual awards of full tuition plus a $10,000 per year stipend for living expenses. These awards have a total value of more than $130,000 over three years.

Other students with demonstrated academic and leadership achievements may qualify for awards ranging in total value from $60,000 to full tuition over three years.

Selection
Chicago-Kent awards honors scholarships based on academic performance, leadership qualities, and co-curricular activities. Applicants should have a strong undergraduate record and an LSAT score of at least 165.

Applicants who do not meet these requirements will be considered for other scholarship awards. For information on other Chicago-Kent scholarship opportunities, please click here.

Interview Weekend
Candidates selected as finalists for honors scholarships will be invited to attend an interview weekend from Friday, March 5 through Sunday, March 7, 2010. Chicago-Kent provides transportation to the school and accommodations in downtown Chicago for finalists. During this weekend, finalists interview with law school faculty, meet with students, and learn about Chicago-Kent, IIT, and the city of Chicago.

We notify scholarship candidates of our decision within approximately two weeks of the interview weekend.

Application Procedure
Complete and return the online Honors Scholars Program application and supporting materials. We will then request your LSAT score and Credential Assembly Service Law School Report from the Law School Admission Council. There is no application fee.

You are not required to complete Chicago-Kent’s regular application for admission at this time. Applicants who are selected as finalists will be asked to submit a complete application for admission before attending the interview weekend. Those not selected as finalists will be invited to submit a regular application for admission to be considered for admission to the J.D. program and for other substantial scholarship awards.

Application Deadline
All application materials - Honors Scholars Program application, essay, resume and complete LSAC Credential Assembly Service Law School Report - must be received in the Office of Admissions by Monday, January 25, 2010.
