The Effect of The University of Michigan Cases on Affirmative Action in Employment: Proceedings of teh 2004 Annual Meeting, Association of American Law Schools, Sections on Employment Discrimination Law, Labor Relations and Employment Law, and Minority Groups By Abstract Professor Lillard introduces the members of a panel discussion at the 2004 AALS meeting of the Sections on Employment Discrimination Law, Labor Relations and Employment Law, and Minority Groups: Deborah C. Malamud, Miranda Oshige McGowan, Charles A. Shanor, and Robert Belton. These four law professors have long thought about affirmative action law. In this session they turned their attention to the effect of the University of Michigan cases (Grutter v. Bollinger, 539 U.S. 306 (2003) and Gratz v. Bollinger, 539 U.S. 244 (2003)) on private and public sector employment law.
