Susan J. Macaulay

Partner, Gardner Carton & Douglas

Susan J. Macaulay is a partner in the Chicago office of Gardner Carton & Douglas LLC, where she represents both borrowers and lenders in virtually all forms of private corporate debt, including senior, subordinated, secured and unsecured transactions, acquisition financing, debtor-in-possession financing, aircraft finance, project finance, asset securitization, swaps and other forms of derivatives and all forms of leasing.She also has extensive experience representing both vendors and users in the drafting and negotiation of agreements in connection with the acquisition and/or leasing of computer hardware and software.

Prior to joining Gardner Carton & Douglas, Ms. Macaulay was previously with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom (Illinois). Past positions held by Ms. Macaulay also include Vice President and Corporate Counsel of Caremark International, Associate General Counsel of Heller Financial, Inc., and General Counsel and Director of ArcVentures, Inc.

She is a member of the Chicago Bar Association and a fellow of the American College of Investment Counsel. B.Mus., Oberlin Conservatory of Music; M.L.A., University of Chicago; J.D., Loyola University Chicago School of Law; LL.M., Chicago-Kent College of Law.
