LL.M. in International and Comparative Law: Courses

Comparative Law
(3 credit hours)
Examines the problems and issues that arise where legal practice involves foreign law, foreign legal systems, and/or foreign lawyers. In particular, the course focuses on the differences between legal systems and stratgies for responding to those differences.

Introduction to the American Legal System for Foreign Lawyers
(2 credit hours)
Designed to give foreign attorneys in the LL.M. Program in International and Comparative Law an overview of American Law.

Seminar
Seminars are offered in a variety of areas, although the list of seminars offered varies from year to year.Each year new seminars are introduced and old ones retired.Seminar study provides students with an opportunity to work closely with members of the faculty in their areas of expertise. Some elective courses are also offered for seminar credit; where this is the case, it is noted in the registration materials for the particular semester. Enrollment in all seminars is limited to fifteen students.
