CHANGES TO THE CERTIFICATE PROGRAM IN INTERNATIONAL AND COMPARATIVE LAW

Welcome new and returning students! The Office of International Law and Policy is pleased to announce that starting this fall there will be a more robust program associated with the Certificate Program in International and Comparative Law. There will be a variety of social, cultural and academic activities designed to enhance your understanding of the increasingly global legal environment and give you an opportunity to meet the international legal community in Chicago and at Chicago-Kent - professors, foreign lawyers who are studying in our LLM program, and others in the Chicago area who are involved in international legal issues.
To get advance notice of upcoming events, give us your email address! Please send an email to Ginette Ballezza (GBalleza@kentlaw.edu) asking to be put on our mailing list. Students interested in earning the Certificate in International and Comparative Law should come to a brief informational meeting to be held in mid-September - Watch this space and the bulletin boards around the school for the announcement of this meeting.

Mark your calendar for Monday October 4th 12-2 room 305 when the OILP and GLAPI, the Global Law and Policy Initiative will host noted Human Rights Activist Hini Jalani from Pakistan, who will be speaking informally to interested students and faculty.

In these days of both increasing conflict and unabated globalization, international legal studies are more important than ever. Our goal is to help you become more knowledgeable on these vital issues, and to give you the tools that can help you succeed as an international practitioner. So from socializing and networking with foreign attorneys at film screenings, cocktail parties and other social events, to gaining in-depth knowledge about cutting edge legal issues such as the challenges associated with combating human trafficking (which will be the subject of an all day symposium at Chicago-Kent on October 14th), the Office of International Law and Policy is here to help you achieve your goals.
