Optional Practical Training Tutorial
There is an extremely helpful tutorial located here: http://www.iit.edu/~internat/OPTNEW/ . As noted in the directions, you must complete the tutorial before you can access the necessary application materials.
Once you have completed the tutorial and the application, there is a form that needs to be signed by your academic advisor. Dean Harris is the academic advisor for all LL.M. students. As such, you can leave the form with Hilary or Lauren for Dean Harris to sign (you do not need to make an appointment, unless you feel that you need one) and we will notify you when it is ready to be picked up.
Please note that to be eligible for OPT, you have to be an F-1 student who has studied at least one academic year in the U.S. (Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 in most cases).
Taiwan Legal Training Program for LLM Alumni in China.
||Dear Chicago-Kent Alumni,
University of Political Science
and Law in Beijing
Soochow University in Taipei
On behalf of IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law, I am very happy to inform you that our very first Taiwan Legal Training Program, only offered to Chicago-Kent alumni, has been arranged and it is scheduled for July 17 through July 30, 2011. The details of the program are below for your review.
I believe it is also the very first, one of kind, program in the U.S., China and Taiwan that a U.S. law school is leading this type of program in conjunction with the support from our partner law schools: University of Political Science and Law in Beijing (CUPL ??????) and Soochow University in Taipei (SCU ??????).
The purpose of this program is to provide our alumni with useful continuing education and to open a new platform to help alumni in developing business opportunities now and in the future. Now you have support and connections from three strong universities with three totally different business environments. This should bring you rewards as you will be cutting-edge in your profession. I sincerely hope you will take advantage of this opportunity.
Here is how we are going to organize the program:
- Reserve the dates in your calendar for July 17-30, 2011.
- Reserve a seat as follows:
Call and email CUPL, Ms. Yang Yan ? ?010 5890-8195 W or 1391 023 4901 M email@example.com.
- Inform your local Chicago-Kent alumni president or secretary for the reservation.
- You must pay the full amount of fees to CUPL. Details will be announced soon.
- CUPL will send you the application forms for Taiwan entry after your fees are received. All forms must be returned to CUPL before 4/18/2011.
- CUPL will send all application to SCU for processing the official entrance permit (need 5-6 weeks).
We all should be very proud to be in the Chicago-Kent family because together we can do better.
