ADVISORY TO PRODUCERS, COLUMNISTS, AND ASSIGNMENT, LEGAL, BUSINESS, SPORTS, PLANNING, CITY DESK, FEATURES AND DAYBOOK EDITORS

To reach any of our experts, call Gwen Osborne, director of public affairs, at (312) 906-5251. Press releases and earlier advisories are available on our Web site: www.kentlaw.edu/news/advisory.
Potential charitable donors should be wary of online sites, unsolicited e-mails and Internet auctions set up during the holidays to forward assistance to groups or individuals. "They may be phishing schemes or other sites designed to steal important financial information," says Dean Harold J. Krent. He is available to discuss issues related to online auction fraud and identity theft.
Will State Street still be a great street for retailers this holiday season? Carson Pirie Scott has been absent from State Street since March of 2007, when it vacated the landmark building it occupied for more than a century. Chicagoans’ memories of holidays spent at Marshall Field’s have morphed into a somewhat different Macy’s experience. There are several new stores and lots of construction along State Street. Professor Joel Goldhar of Stuart School of Business is available for interviews about the impact of the many changes found on State Street this holiday season.
Giving green. "A gift package of ‘fair trade’ coffee or other ‘fair trade’ edibles allows us to share both the product and the ideals behind its very being," says John Paul Kusz, associate director of Stuart School of Business’ Center for Sustainable Enterprise. "I also like to give a card with a gift certificate, eliminating boxes and wrapping, and it's easy on the planet and easy to send." Professor Kusz has more gift suggestions and contact information for businesses and organizations whose products strive to achieve "sustainable" goals.
