Dean Harold J. Krent was a guest on WBEZ-FM's "Eight Forty Eight" to discuss presidential pardons. Dean Krent was also interviewed about presidential pardons by Viewpoints, a nationally syndicated radio public affairs program heard on 350 commercial stations in the U.S.
Professor Matthew I. Bernstein was a guest on WVON-AM. The topic was president-elect Barack Obama's U.S. citizenship.
Dean Harold J. Krent was interviewed by WBBM-TV about the possibility that the U.S. Supreme Court might take a case that challenged president-elect Barack Obama's U.S. citizenship.
Professor Edward Kraus and Julie Burger, associate director of Chicago-Kent's Institute for Law, Science and Technology, were quoted in a Chicago Tribune story about "a growing movement" of parents of school-age children with diabetes who want stronger laws and policies to help them manage the disease. The story also mentioned Chicago-Kent's pro bono legal clinic that protects the rights of students with diabetes.
Professor Mark Rosen was interviewed by WMAQ-TV today regarding the Illinois state constitution's gubernatorial succession provision in the wake of the federal corruption allegations against Gov. Rod Blagojevich. Professor Rosen was a guest on "The Tom Joyner Morning Show," a nationally syndicated radio program with 8 million listeners in more than 110 markets in the U.S. He was also interviewed by the Illinois Radio Network, which is heard on 50 stations around the state.

Professor Douglas Godfrey was quoted in a front-page Chicago Daily Law Bulletin story about how Gov. Blagojevich's legal woes is creating what the newspaper called "a boom time for lawyers." The story profiled attorney Sheldon Sorosky who represented the governor at the bail hearing and mentioned the two major law firms have worked on his behalf for the past two years, and outlined how constitutional lawyers, federal prosecutors, investigators, and election law practitioners are working on various aspects of the charges against the Gov. Blagojevich.

Blagojevich from office and to issue a TRO to relieve him of many of his duties while his fitness to remain in office is determined. Professor Rosen discussed the use of Supreme Court Rule 382. Dean Harold J. Krent was a guest on First Business Morning News, a nationally syndicated business television program. The topic was the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Altria v. Good, a case to determine whether federal labeling law protects cigarette manufacturers from lawsuits that accuse them of defrauding consumers by suggesting in its advertising that "low-tar" or "light" cigarettes are less hazardous than higher tar brands. Three years ago, the Illinois Supreme Court overturned a $10.1 billion class-action verdict against Philip Morris U.S.A. on the same issues considered in the case before the U.S. Supreme Court.
Professor Evelyn Brody was quoted in a Daily Princetonian story about the settlement of "the largest donor-intent lawsuit in U.S. history. Under the terms of the agreement, the Robertson Foundation will be dissolved and its assets will be transferred to Princeton University to create an endowed fund. Princeton will reimburse the Robertson family $100 million in legal fees and establish a new charitable foundation.
Professor Felice Batlan was interviewed by First Business Morning News, a nationally syndicated business television program. The topic was Bernard Madoff and his investment firm, Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC, which has been charged with securities fraud by the SEC for "a multi-billion dollar Ponzi scheme.

Krent and professors Ronald W. Staudt and Henry H. Perritt, Jr., and second-year student David Kim were quoted in the feature, "Chicago-Kent Connects Technology and the Law." Professor Staudt and the Berkson Reading Room were pictured in the article. Dean Krent also wrote a column, "The Role of Technology." "By understanding how technology has changed the law, students will become better lawyers in the future," he said.
