Chicago-Kent Order of the Coif chapter inducts 30 new members

National legal honor society inductees were among the top 10 percent of the spring 2009 class

CHICAGO–October 23, 2009–-The Chicago-Kent College of Law chapter of the Order of the Coif today inducted 30 new members during award ceremonies at the Hotel Allegro. The Order of the Coif is a national legal honor society that recognizes superior scholarship and promotes the ethical standards of the legal profession.

Chicago-Kent was unanimously elected to membership in the Order of the Coif in 1989. The law school faculty selects members from the top 10 percent of each graduating class. Professor Howard C. Eglit is president of the Chicago-Kent chapter.

The most recent honorees earned their Juris Doctor degrees from Chicago-Kent at the end of the spring 2009 semester. Inducted into the Order of the Coif were Cheryl Dancey Balough, Joseph Andrew Brabender IV, Molly B. Brooks, Amy Z. Chiang, Brody E. Dawson, Jedediah B. Forkner, Betsy L. Gates, Robert J. Grindle, John O. Gunderson, Justin D. Kaplan, Jeremy D. Kerman, Ted C. Koshiol, Matthew J. Levinstein, Michael C. Mead, and Randy R. Micheletti. Also inducted were Teresa Ann Minnich, Matthew G. Minder, Ausra V. Norusis, Shannon F. O'Boye, Roman P. Patzner, Rostislav Pukshansky, Casandra Rdzak, Aaron J. Rosenthal, Laura B. Rowe, Jessica Herzog Schultz, Kara L. Schuur, Irina Alexevna Slavina, Craig J. Stern, Jessica M. Tyrus, and Paula K. Villela.

Chicago-Kent College of Law is the law school of Illinois Institute of Technology, a private, Ph.D.-granting institution with programs in engineering, psychology, architecture, business, design and law. With more than 1,100 students, Chicago-Kent offers full-time and part-time J.D. and LL.M. degree programs as well as joint-degree programs with other IIT units, including Stuart School of Business.
