The library at IIT's downtown campus contains approximately 500,000 volumes and encompasses the
libraries of both the Chicago-Kent College of Law and the Stuart
School of Business. These libraries form an outstanding collection of materials relating
to law, business, international relations, and the social sciences.
The law school’s library is enriched by a special collection, the Library of International
Relations, which includes treaties, serials, monographs on international relations, and other international
materials that provide a unique resource for IIT and for the city of Chicago. The library is a depository
for publications of the United Nations and its affiliated organizations, as well as for the European
Union, and contains a large collection of international reference materials in the social sciences.
The library can seat more than 600 patrons and includes computer classrooms, copier rooms, microform
facilities, and group study rooms. Wireless network access is possible in much of the library, and
hard-wired network connections are available throughout the facility. The library's collections
are accessible via information in the online
catalog as well as the Directory
of Online Resources on the library’s Web site.
