LOCATION: IIT'S DOWNTOWN CAMPUS
Chicago-Kent is located on IIT's downtown campus at 565 West Adams
Street (at the corner of South Jefferson St.) in Chicago's West
Loop neighborhood, one block west of Union Station (Amtrak
and Metra
communter trains) and three blocks south of the Ogilvie Transportation
Center (Chicago/Northwestern station for Metra
commuter trains).
The law school's proximity to Chicago's major north/south and east/west
expressways--just two blocks east of the Kennedy Expressway (I-90/94)
and three blocks north of the Eisenhower Expressway (I-290)--makes
Chicago-Kent easily accessible from anywhere in the city and suburbs.
Nearby discounted parking is available for students, faculty and
staff.
Numerous Chicago
Transit Authority (CTA) bus routes terminate or make stops at
the two nearby commuter train stations. The law school is also within
walking distance of two CTA elevated train ("L") stations
and one CTA subway station.
The law school is a short walk from the Dirksen Federal Building,
which houses the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of
Illinois, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, and
numerous federal agencies; the Daley Center, which houses the Illinois
state courts; and LaSalle Street, the hub of law practice in Chicago.
Because of the law school's location, Chicago-Kent students are
able to observe and participate meaningfully in the legal process
during their law school careers.
Chicago-Kent students may also take advantage of the library, athletic facilities
and course offerings on IIT's Main Campus, three miles south of
the Loop. A shuttle
bus service connects the Downtown Campus with the Main Campus.
