January 9: Deadline to pay tuition and fees or enroll in a payment plan
Tuition and fees less any anticipated financial aid awards are due in full by the first day of each semester. If you wish to enroll in a three-month payment plan, you must do so by that date as well. You can view your account balance, make a payment or enroll in a payment plan through the myIIT portal Finances tab. Follow the Manage My Student Account link to access our secure site.
New cashier office hours
The overwhelmingly positive response by both students and staff to the online services that the Office of the Bursar has worked hard to implement over the past few years has changed the way that students and staff interact with our office. Based on recent analysis, we have determined that a modified cashier window schedule can accommodate the decreased volume of transactions that occur at the window. All other Bursar services are available at all times through the myIIT portal and Bursar's Office website (www.iit.edu/bursar). In addition, a staff member can be reached during all business hours by emailing email@example.com.
Effective January 17, the Cashier's Office hours will be as follows:
Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Closed: Tuesday and Thursday
Monday and Thursday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Closed: Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday
Our office in Main Building, Room 207, will be open during all normal business hours, Monday through Friday. If you must make a payment in person, please visit us during our new open Cashier Window hours.
Receive your 1098-T electronically
1098-T tax forms will be available after January 31. To receive your 1098-T form earlier and ensure it does not get lost in the mail, consent to receive your form electronically.
More information about the 1098-T tax form will be published on our website throughout the month. Please visit www.iit.edu/bursar for the most up-to-date information, FAQs and more!
Financial aid refunds
In order to receive a refund, you must be enrolled in direct deposit. You may sign up for direct deposit via the Finances tab in the myIIT portal. Credit balances on your account that are the result of receiving loan funds will be refunded to you in compliance with all regulations and once all offices complete due-diligence processing of those funds. Credit balances that are the result of personal overpayments on your account will be applied to future terms unless a Request for Refund form is submitted by March 2, 2012. Students are encouraged to plan ahead financially when preparing for each semester and to not rely solely on a refund as a means of paying living expenses.
How to receive your Perkins Loan
In order to receive your loan, you will have to complete paperwork, including a Master Promissory Note and Entrance Interview with ECSI, our institutional loan processor. To initiate this process, accept the award on the Finances tab of your myIIT portal as usual. You will be contacted by ECSI via e-mail with information on completing required paperwork. If you do not receive e-mail communication to your @kentlaw e-mail address, please check your @iit e-mail address on the welcome screen of your myIIT portal, as communications could be sent there.
If you have questions about your institutional loans, you can contact ECSI at 888.549.3274 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Please allow several days after accepting your award on the myIIT portal before contacting ESCI to ensure they have your information on file.
