Headlines for the Week of October 22, 2012

New cashier office hours

The overwhelmingly positive response by both students and staff to the online services that the Office of the Bursar has worked hard to implement over the past few years has changed the way that students and staff interact with our office. Based on recent analysis, we have determined that a modified cashier window schedule can accommodate the decreased volume of transactions that occur at the window. All other Bursar services are available at all times through the myIIT portal and Bursar's Office website (www.iit.edu/bursar). In addition, a staff member can be reached during all business hours by emailing bursar@iit.edu.

Effective January 17, 2012, the Cashier's Office hours are as follows:

Main Campus
Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Closed: Tuesday and Thursday

Downtown Campus
Monday and Thursday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Closed: Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday

Our office in Main Building, Room 207, will be open during all normal business hours, Monday through Friday. If you must make a payment in person, please visit us during our new open Cashier Window hours.

Financial aid refunds

In order to receive a refund, please enroll in direct deposit via the Finances tab in the myIIT portal. Credit balances on your account that are the result of receiving loan funds will be refunded to you in compliance with all regulations and once all offices complete due-diligence processing of those funds. Students are encouraged to plan ahead financially when preparing for each semester and to not rely solely on a refund as a means of paying living expenses. For help creating a budget or managing your money, feel free to take advantage of the online finance tools available to all students at http://cashcourse.org/iit.

How to receive your Perkins Loan

In order to receive your loan, you will have to complete paperwork, including a Master Promissory Note and Entrance Interview with ECSI, our institutional loan processor. To initiate this process, accept the award on the Finances tab of your myIIT portal as usual. You will be contacted by ECSI via e-mail with information on completing required paperwork. If you do not receive e-mail communication to your @kentlaw e-mail address, please check your @iit e-mail address on the welcome screen of your myIIT portal, as communications could be sent there.

If you have questions about your institutional loans, you can contact ECSI at 888.549.3274 or webcservice@ecsi.net. Please allow several days after accepting your award on the myIIT portal before contacting ESCI to ensure they have your information on file.
