From Professor Richard WarnerPROJECT POLAND CONFERENCE Project Poland is pleased to announce an upcoming conference entitled "Advancing the Polish Judiciary: Efficiency and Independence" or in Polish, "Sprawne zarzadzanie sadami w Polsce." The conference activities will take place from October 17-21 in Warsaw, Lublin and Poznan. It is jointly sponsored and organized by Chicago-Kent's Project Poland and the Chicago Office of the Consul General of The Republic of Poland, Poland's Ministry of Justice and Iustitia, the Polish Association of Judges.
The Polish court system is in the midst of many substantive and administration changes, and the American participants will engage in discussions on a wide variety of topics including mediation and settlement, court administration and domestic violence.
The American participants include: Judge Barbara J. Disko, Circuit Court Judge, Cook County; Judge Francis A. Gembala, Associate Clerk for Court Operations; Judge Thaddeus Kowalski, Associate Judge, Circuit Court Cook County; and Aurelia Pucinski, Clerk of the Circuit Court.
