Professor Sheldon Nahmod
Section 1983 litigation, the Pledge of Allegiance and political rituals among topics of recent presentations around the country
Professor Nahmod spoke to federal judges in April about Section 1983 at the Sixth Circuit Conference in Memphis, Tennessee. Also in April, he delivered a paper on the Pledge of Allegiance and political rituals at the George Washington University Conference on Holidays and Rituals held in Washington, D.C., and spoke in Chicago to the Federal Bar Association about police misconduct litigation. In June, Professor Nahmod will address new federal judges about Section 1983 in Washington D.C. under the auspices of the Federal Judicial Center. In the same month he will speak about Section 1983 to the Arkansas Municipal League in Little Rock.
Professor Nahmod's article, From the Street to the Courtroom: Court Orders and Section 1983, will be published in June in Hastings Constitutional Law Quarterly.
