From Professor Kathryn Penrose
Environmental Law Moot Court.
Are you interested in environmental law? Do you want to participate in a fun and rewarding experience that will offer you the opportunity to hone your writing and oral argument skills? If so, you should consider participating in Chicago Kent's Environmental Law Moot Court.
The Environmental Law Moot Court team will represent Chicago-Kent at the 2006 Pace University National Moot Court Competition, held next February in New York (travel expenses will be paid by the law school). The problem becomes available in early October, briefs are due in early December, and oral argument practices (held in the early evening) begin in mid-January.
We will be conducting interviews for this year’s Environmental Law Moot Court Team on September 22-23. If you wish to be considered for an interview, please submit the following as soon as possible to Seth Shippee and/or Professor Kathryn Penrose on or before Friday, September 16:
- Writing sample (10 pages max.);
- Name of your first-year legal writing professor;
- Fall semester class schedule;
- List of environmental classes you've taken or are currently enrolled in;
- Any other relevant environmental experience you may have.
All interviews will be conducted at Chicago-Kent. Second- and third-year day students and those with demonstrable interest in environmental law preferred. Please contact Seth Shippee at 312.603.6299 or Professor Penrose at 312.906.5174 if you have any questions.
