February 11 and 12: Volunteer student bailiffs needed for the Midwest Regional Rounds of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition
The Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition is currently recruiting students to serve as bailiffs during the Midwest Regional Rounds. Volunteers will escort judges to the courtrooms and time the teams' oral arguments. This will allow you to meet area attorneys, listen in on the teams' arguments, and pick up oral advocacy techniques.
Volunteers are needed for the following rounds. The greatest need is for rounds 2, 4 and 5:
Friday, February 11, 2011
Round 1: 9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Round 2: Noon – 2:30 p.m.
Round 3: 3 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Saturday, February 12, 2011
Round 4: 9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Round 5: Noon – 2:30 p.m.
Quarter Final Rounds: 4 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
An optional meeting will be held on Thursday, February 10, from 5 to 6 p.m. at Chicago-Kent to go over the procedures.
If you are interested in volunteering, please e-mail your availability to Ryan Kovach at rkovach@kentlaw.edu.
